Baked Chicken

Baking a chicken is one of the easiest methods to cook chicken. You place your cleaned and seasoned chicken into a baking dish and pop it into a 350 degree F oven and bake it until it?s done, usually about 50 to 60 minutes. However, you can tantalize the taste buds of your family if you make a Jerk Chicken instead of the old stand-by.

?Jerk,? when referred to in relation to cooking. It could come from the Spanish word ?charqui? which means that the meat has been dried. This term is where we get ?jerky.? Another possible explanation is that a person would jerk or poke a piece of meat with a sharp knife to make holes in the meat and then placing spices into the holes. No matter which origin you accept, any meat that has been prepared ?jerked? is tasteful and spicy. Scotch bonnet chili peppers (or habaneros) and allspice are two of the main components of jerk seasoning. Please use care when cooking with any chili pepper.
